Changelog (Build 2.2)
Been starving for more of the Starboard cast? Fear not, players! Among the usual minor tweaks, this update adds a new scene on the way to Oxport, just something to dig your teeth into for the time being! Be patient, I'll get around to properly working on and releasing the next major build as soon as I feel demand is high enough (like if, say, the game's Itch page reaches a certain view milestone?). See you then, and enjoy yet another reminder that I have yet to die!
Changelog (Build 2.2):
- Added the aforementioned scene on the way to Oxport, taking place aboard Ori and the gang's brand new ship! The goal is to establish themes that I will be expanding on during the Oxport arc, while also furthering the hype. Enjoy!
- The gang's ship now has a name: The Galileo! The ship saleswoman will refer to it as such when you first receive it
- Moved the rocks and invisible borders on the path from the SS Yamato to Oxport, mainly as an aesthetic choice to make it more consistently narrow
- The apple crate at the campsite now gives 3 apples rather than just one. Found it kinda weird how the crate goes from full to completely empty after interacting with it before, and while the number you get still doesn't match up as to not give you *too* many apples, it's a step in the right direction
- Changed the item given to you in the chest at Hayai Island from a Soda to a Magic Water, as the accompanying text says. Forgot to change it to the new version of the item when I changed the original to Soda
- Also changed the way all chests in the game disappear, as in previous builds they would respawn whenever reloading their respective maps
- The Hayai chest is now a little less fancy-looking, made of wood rather than (what I presume was) metal and gold
- Halved the volume of every (unless I missed some, let me know) instance of the Sea BGS in the game, it was seriously getting on my nerves how much space it took up in the game's sound
- Slightly redesigned the interior of Hayai Pub, fixing the inconsistent void at the top and bottom of the map, adding a new NPC, and finally giving one of the existing ones a chair to sit on. My apologies, "Pondering Man"
- Added an NPC in the SS Yamato Plaza who sells a new item: The Talisman Slip, lowering encounter rates for a certain amount of time upon use
- Changed one of the shipwrights on the SS Yamato's dialogue to something that implies less that the ship they're working on is the one the main characters receive, which was the original plan when making the ship until I realized removing it from the shipyard would be a complete nightmare
- Changed Apollo's reaction to Ori giving the Namakubi his full name from a sweat balloon to an exclamation balloon, more appropriate for his personality
- Christoff's fishing boat now disappears from the SS Yamato upon receiving the Galileo. Don't worry, it's tucked away on the ship in the case of an emergency
- Added another benefit to getting a new ship, though...that's a secret ;)
Edit (forgot I made this change when I initially wrote this):
- Removed a credit for an unused asset I ended up changing my mind on using. Sorry bluecarrot16, you made a cool bird sprite, I just decided to use the built-in one since it fits with the RPGMaker artstyle better, and because I plan on replacing it in the future either way (here's a link to their OpenGameArt page, show them some love -> https://opengameart.org/users/bluecarrot16)
